Tasheer Fingerprint Error, Expiry and Mission Objection: Re-Finger Guide for Pakistan

A practical checklist for Tasheer fingerprint errors, a 30-day validity instruction, renewed application numbers and Islamabad-to-Karachi mission changes.

A Tasheer fingerprint error or mission objection does not tell you, by itself, why a Saudi visa application has stopped. First obtain the exact message and check the passport number, visa application number, selected mission and biometric receipt together. Repeating fingerprints without identifying the mismatch can waste another appointment.

This guide covers common Pakistan workflow questions, including Islamabad-to-Karachi mission changes and requests for fresh fingerprints. International readers should use the instructions for their own country, visa category and processing centre. Tasheer collects and handles application information; the responsible Saudi authority decides the visa outcome. Our independent booking-assistance website cannot clear an embassy objection or guarantee a visa.

Does Tasheer fingerprint validity last 30 days?

Our booking team's operational guidance for the Pakistan cases described here is to plan around a 30-day fingerprint window. Applicants have reported passports being returned when the biometric record is no longer accepted during processing, followed by a request for fresh fingerprints and prompt resubmission. However, the official public material checked on 23 October 2026 did not confirm a universal rule that every Saudi visa must be stamped within 30 days of fingerprint capture.

Treat 30 days as a time-sensitive instruction to verify on your own receipt, objection notice or written centre guidance. Ask what event starts the period, whether days are calendar days, what must happen before expiry, and whether the deadline concerns submission, acceptance or visa issuance. Do not assume that handing over the passport before day 30 automatically extends biometric validity.

Fingerprint validity, medical validity and visa validity are different

A biometric deadline is separate from the date on your Wafid appointment slip, the validity accepted for a medical report, a visa application deadline and the visa's travel dates. One valid document does not automatically renew another. Check every deadline separately with the organisation that issued it. For the medical stage, use Check a Wafid/GAMCA medical report online and Help with a missing Wafid medical report.

Reason 1: a renewed or replacement application number

When an application is renewed, corrected or recreated, compare the new reference with the one on your biometric receipt. Ask the centre whether the earlier biometric record can be linked to the current application or whether fresh capture is required. A new application number can create a linkage problem, but does not prove that every renewed application always needs re-fingerprinting.

Keep both references, payment receipts and any cancellation or renewal confirmation. Ask which application is active before submitting the passport. Do not create repeated applications simply to remove an error; this may introduce further reference mismatches.

Reason 2: the mission changed from Islamabad to Karachi

Check whether the visa application, appointment and submission documents identify the same Saudi mission. If processing has moved from Islamabad to Karachi, ask the authorised centre how the application and biometrics must be associated with the receiving mission. Do not assume a record captured for one mission transfers automatically.

A mission objection can concern a jurisdiction or record mismatch rather than unreadable fingers. Obtain the exact objection wording. Ask whether correcting the mission selection is sufficient, whether a replacement application is needed, or whether the authority has specifically requested fresh biometrics. Changing the mission without written guidance can leave another part of the file inconsistent.

Reason 3: the biometric record is outside the accepted period

If the objection explicitly states expired biometrics, ask the centre to confirm the capture date and the required remedy. When new fingerprints are requested, arrange the appointment through the authorised route, keep the new receipt and coordinate prompt resubmission of the complete passport file. Ask whether any old application must first be closed or updated.

Fresh fingerprints resolve only the biometric requirement identified in that instruction. They do not guarantee stamping: other document checks and the authority's decision still apply. Do not buy a service promising a guaranteed visa immediately after re-fingerprinting.

Other reasons a fingerprint or biometric error may appear

  • Passport details differ between the application and biometric receipt.
  • The record has not linked to the active application or needs a system-status check.
  • A capture-quality issue needs staff review, such as worn ridges, injury or an incomplete scan.
  • The visa category or identity information differs across documents.
  • The authority has requested additional verification for the individual case.

These are troubleshooting possibilities, not a diagnosis of a specific error. Only the centre or responsible authority can confirm what its system recorded. Report a hand injury or persistent capture problem to staff; do not use chemicals, abrasives or skin treatments to manipulate fingerprints.

Step-by-step: what to do after a mission objection

  • Save the exact error or return notice and record the date. Do not rely on an agent's shortened description.
  • Compare the passport, active application number, visa category, mission and biometric receipt.
  • Ask the centre to identify whether the issue is expiry, capture quality, application linkage or mission selection.
  • Request the corrective action, current fee and required documents in writing.
  • If fresh capture is required, book through the authorised service and keep the new receipt.
  • Confirm that the current application and receiving mission match before resubmitting.
  • Track the passport and retain the acknowledgement until it is returned.

Do not pay duplicate fees until the centre explains which earlier service remains usable. If the passport has been returned, ask whether the application is still active and which documents need updating. A returned passport should not automatically be described as a permanent visa refusal.

Documents to prepare for re-fingerprinting

Bring the original passport and the centre's required copies, current application reference, appointment confirmation, previous and current biometric receipts if available, and the objection or return notice. If a mission or application number changed, bring the supporting confirmation. Requirements and charges differ by case, so confirm the list before travelling.

Never publish passport scans or full application numbers in public groups. Use the centre's official support channel for personal records. If your Wafid booking also contains a passport mistake, read Correct passport or name mistakes on a Wafid slip; fixing a Wafid slip does not automatically correct a Tasheer record.

Questions to send to the processing centre

Please confirm the active application number and receiving mission for my passport. Which biometric capture date is linked to that application? Is the objection due to expiry, mission selection, record linkage or capture quality? Do I need new fingerprints or only a record correction? What is the exact deadline and which processing event must occur before it? Which documents and fee are required for resubmission?

Frequently asked questions

Will my visa definitely fail if stamping takes more than 30 days?

We could not verify that as a universal official rule. If your centre applies a 30-day biometric limit, ask how it affects your particular file and whether fresh capture is needed. Do not assume a pending file extends the deadline.

Does a new application number always mean new fingerprints?

No universal rule was verified. Ask whether the existing record can be associated with the active reference or the authority requires new capture.

Does changing from Islamabad to Karachi require re-fingerprinting?

It can require additional steps, depending on the record and mission instructions. Confirm the required correction before paying for another appointment.

Will re-fingerprinting guarantee a visa?

No. It addresses a requested biometric step; the responsible authority still assesses the entire application.

Is Tasheer fingerprint expiry the same as Wafid medical expiry?

No. They are separate processes and documents. Ask the relevant issuer about each deadline.
